Invitation: Perennial Pastures Workshop – Building Drought-Resilient Farming

We are pleased to invite you to attend our upcoming Perennial Pastures Workshop, designed to support farmers and land managers in establishing and maintaining productive, drought-resilient perennial pasture systems.


This practical and evidence-based workshop will provide valuable insights into the adoption and long-term management of perennial forage systems, with a focus on improving soil

health and farm resilience.


Workshop Overview


Participants will gain knowledge and confidence in:

  • Establishing and maintaining perennial pastures on farm

  • Increasing drought resilience through perennial forage systems

  • Monitoring and understanding potential impacts on soil carbon

  • Comparing perennial and annual pasture systems, including costs and financial viability

  • Identifying and overcoming barriers to establishing perennial ryegrass and other perennial species in Year 1 and beyond

  • Applying the basic principles of grazing management in perennial systems

  • Managing annual weeds within perennial pastures

  • Understanding fertiliser and soil amendment requirements in perennial systems

This workshop is suitable for livestock producers, mixed farming enterprises, and those considering transitioning from annual to perennial pasture systems.
