Joanna Davis is part way through a Masters in Astronomy and taught Science and Upper School Physics for several years in Australia and Britain and also recently completed a Doctor of Jurisprudence which is a fancy title for studying law. On this occasion however, Joanna will be sharing another of her great passions – the laws of the universe. She will talk about the origins of the cosmos, how the stars are formed and a bit on the history of astronomy. Joanna will guide you through current knowledge of the solar system and how to find your way around the night sky. If the sky’s clear, you can look at the planets, constellations and other fascinating objects with the naked eye and binoculars and telescopes (feel free to bring if you have them). SFCL looks forward to “looking up” with you.
